Description

Behind the famous Spanish Arch, you’ll find Galway City Museum, which looks at how the county’s remarkable history shaped the region and indeed the nation. Across three floors and several exhibitions, you can trace the county’s evolution from medieval times to more recent historical events.

Galway onto (Maigh Cuilinn) Moycullen, this is a Gaeltacht village about 10km northwest of Galway City. It is near Lough Corrib on the road to Oughterard and Clifden, it has many popular attractions. Lots of delicious food and drinks in the White Gables and The Forge or some fun for the whole family in Wildlands Galway for some adventure. Continuing on from (Maigh Cuilinn) Moycullen the route climbs over high ground affording a wonderful view of Galway Bay and the Arran Islands. Cyclcist then drop down to Roscahill a beautiful village surrounded with lots of natural amenities and from there to (Casla) Costelloe where the section ends.

  • The  Town Hall Theatre in the centre of Galway City presents a 52-week programme covering all the performance arts including theatre, concerts, musicals, opera, ballet and film.

  • Pálás is a three screen arthouse cinema and cultural space in the UNESCO city of film- Galway.

  • University of Galway (UoG) first opened its doors in 1849 and remains a leading third level institution today with over 17,000 students matriculating here. Discover the 260 acre campus visitor attractions.

  • Druid is an award winning creative theatre group which performs in two venues in Galway, at  Druid Theatre (a converted grain warehouse) and at the  Town Hall Theatre.

  • Moycullen Farmers Market takes place every Friday in Moycullen, County Galway. The stalls provide a wide selection of fresh local fruit and vegetables, cheeses, home-made jams, breads and cakes plus much more.
