Kilmore Quay

Steeped in maritime history, the fishing port of Kilmore Quay, with its quaint thatched cottages, children’s playground and playful seals in the harbour, is a hive of activity.

Forlorn Point has some of the most ancient rock in Europe. A memorial garden dedicated to those lost at sea lies beside Ballyteigue Burrow’s 9km of sand dunes abundant with flora and fauna.

Just offshore, the unspoiled Saltee Islands are a haven for sea-birds, surrounded by abundant marine life.  A ferry service runs daily between April and October.
