Fethard-On-Sea is the largest village on the Hook peninsula. Here you will find a supermarket, pubs, restaurants, accommodation (hotel, B&B and camping options) and a Tourist Information centre at The Irish Experience.
The Irish Experience provides outdoor adventure activities such as kayaking, SUP and canyoning along the rugged coast of the peninsula – “a must” if in the area.
Elsewhere in the village, there is a memorial to the crew of the Helen Blake Lifeboat, a Norman Castle and Motte with a short walking trail around the perimeter and just outside the village, one of the oldest and smallest harbours along this stretch of coastline.
Baginbun, just 2km outside the village is a lovely sheltered cove but also a place of historical significance as it is
believed to be where the first battle with the Norman invaders took place.
