A quiet sleepy village in rural Wexford, Carrig-on-Bannow is home to traditional Irish musicians Phil, John & Pip Murphy. Phil invented a unique style of playing traditional Irish dance music on the harmonica which he passed on to his sons who in turn have passed on to their students. The Phil Murphy Weekend, a festival of traditional music is held every year in the village. Music sessions in the local pubs are held throughout the year.
The village is also home to the Red Door café.
